Rice and Bean Cooker

Krista wants to know if one can cook beans in rice cooker. If the cooker is
just plain rice cooker, then one cannot cook dry beans in it. If the cooker
has different options like assorted cooking or porridge cooking, one can
successfully cook dry beans, lentils and pulses. Just switch to porridge
cooking and adjust time acc to beans. Add soaked beans with sufficient water
and the beans will be cooked. You can add spices first or after it is
cooked. It is quite simple and easy. But in the beg one has to learn by
trial and error regarding the amt of water and the time to be kept for diff
beans. It depends on each rice cooker. If the rice cooker has slow cooking
option, then also one can cook beans in it.
