A simple way of estimating fiber intake that works well is the
following

UNrefined Carbohydrates
3 grams per serving  (1/2 Cup)

Vegetables
2.5 grams per serving (1/2 Cup)

Fruits
2.5 Grams per serving (1/2 cup)

Refined Carbohydrates
<1 gram per serving (1/2 cup)
