Sugar Cane...

Sugar Cane is a plant that looks a bit like bamboo, yes.

But in the refining process to make it white and dry, it is cooked, drained
of its syrup (molasses - the best draw is fancy, the last and worst is
sulfer molasses and fit only for pigs), then 'filtered' with charred animal
bones from the slaughterhouses. It is then pure sucrose, with little to say
for itself except it's sweet. Super fine (or fruit sugar) dissolves on
fruit, and confectioner's sugar has corn starch added to it. Brown sugar
usually is granulated sugar which has colouring and flavouring added,
turbinado is less refined, and demerar has the molasses added back to it.
