Breakfast

Recently I have been making a really yummy brakfast - it is even eaten
(with great relish) by my hot cereal disliking 'spouse-like'.

BETTER THAN OATMEAL
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 handfull sultana raisins
1 handfull chopped dried apricots
1 handfull chopped candied ginger (optional)
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups 7 grain cereal (wheat, oats, millet, barley, corn, spelt and flax)
I sometimes add 1 tbsp toasted sunflower seeds (naughty, naughty).

I mix all these ingredients together and then just throw about 1/2 a cup
per person into 1 cup boiling water (per person) and simmer, stiring
regularly for 5 - 10 minutes. Micrwaving for 3 minutes (in a big bowl)
works really well too. Sometimes I add skim milk and brown sugar (or maple
syrup) when I serve this. It's so yummy we even eat it for dessert.

Other chopped dried fruit works really well too. I like the cranberries
because they have a tart refreshing flavor.

7 grain cereal is available pretty widely in north america, but you could
also make your own. I use it to make pancakes, crackers, cookies and
muffins (anything that you would use oats in.) I also used it to make my
lentil tacos less runny, and would liketo try it for making burgers.

PS. Thankyou to everyone who sends in the divine recipes.
